Our Story: The One That Started It All

Before we ever picked up a camera to film a wedding, our own love story was written across oceans. For years, I (Quay) worked as a seafarer, navigating vast distances on the water. But the one thing that always kept me anchored was the connection I shared with Christine, thousands of miles away. For four years, our relationship was built on late-night calls, timezone calculations, and the unwavering belief that we were meant to be together. We learned firsthand that love isn't about proximity; it's about a shared heart and a commitment that defies distance. In 2019, we finally closed that distance for good and got married. Our wedding day changed everything, and not just because we were starting our lives in the same place. Surrounded by all the emotion and joy, we felt a profound sense of purpose. A calling for something greater than what our college degrees had planned for us. We realized that the most beautiful stories aren't just seen; they're felt. And we were meant to be the ones to capture that feeling for others. That's how StoryCruz Films was born. It began with our own journey and the understanding that every couple deserves to have their special moments remembered timelessly. My initial love for the technical side of filmmaking quickly grew into something more meaningful: a deep appreciation for the bond we build with our couples. Christine discovered that same passion, finding immense joy in being a resource, an advocate, and a friend to the amazing people we work with. Today, we don't just see ourselves as filmmakers and photographers. We are curators of memories, fuelled by the love story that started it all, and honoured to bring the love stories of other couples to life.
